Mark Caserta: Kim Davis’ ordeal offers multiple lessons

Mark Caserta: Free State Patriot Editor

For years, I’ve been committed to exposing the progressive movement in the United States. I consider it a conservative responsibility since it’s never addressed properly in the liberal media and for that matter, in the church.

Understand, the progressive modus operandi is consistent. Liberals typically select causes involving “civil rights” or religious issues in which they feel imposing a sliding rule of morality will bolster their long-term agenda. Once identifying such opportunities, they begin a tenacious attack appealing to liberal-minded “thinkers” unable to comprehend a Christian-minded “believer’s” faith in God.

Such was the case with Kentucky clerk, Kim Davis, who was jailed for five days over her refusal to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples, maintaining doing so violates her religious conscience. Davis, who claims she acted “under God’s authority,” has since become a national symbol of anti-gay hostility.

kd

How dare Davis attempt to impose her belief system upon others!

It’s the epitome of hypocrisy for progressives to decry Ms. Davis’ expression of her faith, while entertaining gay pride parades where scantily clad individuals promote lascivious acts in open view. Now, I’m not speaking of a general display of affection, but flaunting exhibitions of nudity, lewdness and vulgarity.

In New York City’s recent annual “Gay Pride” parade, sponsored at the highest “Platinum” level by Walmart Corporation, families and children were exposed to behaviors and messages highly inappropriate for their age, according to a report on churchmilitant.com . The parade even featured a “sadomasochism” float! Talk about imposing your belief system on others!

Now don’t get me wrong. I believe Kim Davis allowed her passion for her service to God and community to cloud her wisdom and did, indeed, ignore the rule of law. But for liberals to suggest Ms. Davis “wanted to go to jail” in martyrdom for her cause is laughable. Gay rights activists propagating this myth are simply attempting to dismiss the legitimacy of Davis’ convictions.

Additionally, for anyone to suggest that one must be a “theologian” to understand God’s Will in the matter is the height of narcissism and arrogance. Quoting Jesus’ disciples in the New Testament, “Who then can be saved?” 1 Corinthians warns that “God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise.”

This past Monday, a column featured in “The Guardian,” by investigative reporter Ryan Felton, shares Davis’ resolution to her dilemma. Ms. Davis did a little “confounding” of her own as she returned to work and proposed her name and title be removed from all marriage licenses to gay couples.

“I just want to serve my neighbors quietly, without violating my conscience,” Davis said. “To affix my name or authoritative title to a certificate that authorizes marriage that conflicts with God’s definition of marriage as a union between one man and one woman violates my deeply held religious convictions and conscience.”

So what should be learned here? First, be able to recognize the progressive movement when you see it. It will nearly always question and refute God’s Word. Secondly, don’t be intimidated in following your conscience. And finally, seek God’s Wisdom in your approach.

Doug Smith: Pity the Liberal

Pity the modern liberal. He, no, sorry, she, no wait we can’t use gender centric language. Well, She-it. Ok, She-It has to defend some pretty difficult positions.

To be a Liberal Democrat (henceforth LD), you must argue your Bills carefully. Clinton’s abusive treatment of women is excused, and he is an advocate of women’s rights because he “feels their pain” (and supports abortion.) Cosby’s behaviors toward women are not excused, because his positions are at odds with the Liberal dogma.

bill cosby bill clinton

But pity the poor liberal, who must defend Willy and condemn Cos for the same moral failings. While we are at it, we must accept Hillary as an advocate for women, despite paying women on her staff less than men, and acting as the attack dog on women who were objects of Bill’s predilections. All for the good of the cause. Pepto Bismol, anyone?

The LD must defend Planned Parenthood, because it is the sacrament of the religion of liberalism. Sheit must defend it as a “Women’s Health” organization helping with Breast Cancer, ignoring that is does no such thing, and attacks another organization which does so for withholding money. Extortion, anyone? Vito Corleone would be proud. LD s must defend PP for “keeping women out of back alleys, and in the hands of butchers, while ignoring and defending unsafe clinics and abortionists who do indeed, even in the 21st Century of Roe V Wade, maim and kill women with impunity. No criticism or attack can be tolerated. Hence, the LD has to somehow defend an abortionist cutting through the face of a living baby to remove his brain. He is, apparently, a blob of tissue, until he can be enrolled in a LD approved, state sponsored Head Start program. Wow. Pepto?

planned parenthood 2 planned parenthood

The LD must turn hits (in Appalachia that is proper grammar. For the gender confused LD it is an amalgam of his her its, and one more reason to reach for the Pepto) logic inside out to insist that Obamacare, which is on the approved list, is the “law of the Land” and must be obey, nay, praised, Nay Worshipped!, but yet Barack Obama can unlawfully alter it dozens of times, fail to implement troublesome parts, and that is an acceptable heresy.

The LD must revere, rightly so, the work and dream of Martin Luther King, yet at the same time eschew criticism of Barack Obama’s failings, and his reversals of the gains won by MLK based not on the content of his character, but on the color of his skin. For no criticism of Obama is accepted and debated, rather, the critic is loudly labeled a racist for his disagreements. Pity the LD, and pass hit the Pepto. MLK must come to Sheit in hits dreams and thunder “Were you not listening?”

Pity the LD, who, supporting the law, turns on law enforcement; who, supporting black lives, must be blind to hundreds killed the right way; who, ( oh my poor aching belly, ) must condemn every shot fired at a black criminal, and, by silence, condone every killing by a black criminal, whether of a white or ( most frequently,) another black. Sheit must condemn blacks who say “We have got to stop killing each other”, and put the blame on, who? Sheit must check with Josh Earnest to see who is at fault this week for the 2000 shootings and 350 murders so far this year in Chicago. Sheit must suspend common sense, and the evidence of hits eyes. Pepto?

mike brown 2 mike brown

The LD must be ok with the lawlessness of ignoring property rights, and rewarding the UAW over bondholders in GM, by Obama, not by, as 100 years of precedent dictates, by a judge, and publicly deriding investors who protest getting pennies on the dollar as greedy, while rewarding the greed of UAW contracts with a company in default. Sheit must be ok with suspending the law, and committing robbery on private individuals, to reward the friends of a corrupt politician. It’s the pink bottle, right there in the front of the fridge.

false 3 false 2

In short, Sheit must be ok with suspending common sense and the law when it serves “the greater purpose.”

Yet, there is a problem with that suspension of conscience. As Robert Bolt has Sir Thomas More state it in “A Man for All Seasons”,

“And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned round on you—where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country is planted thick with laws from coast to coast—man’s laws, not God’s—and if you cut them down—and you’re just the man to do it—do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then?    Yes, I give the Devil benefit of law for my own safety’s sake. “

progressives

And there is, perhaps, the crux of the problem. The LD sees the law as a hindrance to do what Sheit wishes, instead of the protection against the worst urges and greed of barbarians, bandits, and tyrants.

And it is not working for her. Him. It.

Well, Sheit! Pepto?

Mark Caserta: “The Trump Effect”

Let me offer my view on “The Trump Effect”.
The candidate field is vast. When the candidates begin to narrow to 3 or 4, 30% will not be enough to win the presidency.
So, in short, expect Donald Trump to fade as we head into 2016. And as much as I respect Dr. Carson, I think he would be better suited as a member of the next GOP president’s cabinet.
Another factor which will change the entire scenario, is that Hillary Clinton has already begun to fade – quickly. She will NOT be the Democrat’s nominee and neither will Joe Biden.
donald
I fully expect Al Gore or John Kerry to be persuaded by Democrat leadership to throw their hat in the ring before the end of the year.
At that point, this gets serious, so serious that people supporting Trump out of emotional disdain for politics, will quickly turn to a viable, “winnable” GOP candidate.
Please don’t doubt me on this.
I’m hopeful it will be a Governor, like Scott Walker, who has already won 3 elections in the past 4 years and survived a recall vote where the labor unions threw everything they had at him – and lost.
And I believe Carly Fiorina would be the “perfect” running mate. She’s tough, very, very smart and understands business.
She would also get the female voters.
carly
So…my early prediction (feel free to doubt me on this)

Mark Caserta: Congress should shut down deal with Iran

10 Sep

Obama, Kerry, Hillary and Democrats will have blood on their hands.

mark

Mark Caserta: Free State Patriot Editor

Upon Congress’ return to Washington this week, its members’ plate will certainly be full of contentious topics. But none is any more critical than the Iran nuclear deal, otherwise known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

After reviewing many of the provisions of this international agreement, I’m not only concerned at the number of dangerous concessions the deal makes to Iran, but also the way it betrays our allies and gives aid to a sworn enemy of the United States and Israel.

The basic mechanism of the accord involves trading previously imposed sanctions for restrictions on Iran’s nuclear proliferation. And while there are a number of stipulations which could impede Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, the long-term problems are numerous.

 bo bn 3

First, the restrictions on uranium enrichment are time-based and would expire at some point in the future, ultimately opening a door for Iran to continue building its nuclear program and possibly creating a Middle East nuclear arms race. Time will not change the fact that Iran is a staunch enemy of Israel and has vowed to destroy that country.

And Iran is clearly no friend of the United States. Incredibly, just one day after Obama appealed to Iranians in a video message to seize a “historic opportunity” for a nuclear deal and a better future, Iran’s Supreme leader Ali Khamenei called for “death to America”!

On top of reducing sanctions in return for Iran’s promise of “good behavior,” the U.S. along with five other members of the U.N. Security Council and the European Union commit to assist Iran in developing their energy assets, finance, technology and trade. Why help strengthen the infrastructure of one of the most evil regimes in the world?

bo bn 2

The deal allows Iran to maintain its own nuclear reactors as long as they don’t continue to grow their capacity to enrich the core material needed for a nuclear weapon. A monitoring and verification system conducted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is planned to enforce Iran’s compliance, but the verification system is severely flawed.

Apparently, the agreement requires IAEA to give Iran 24 days before any facility inspection. What good is an announced inspection, regardless of the amount of time?

And possibly the most alarming part of the Iran deal is a provision which could place the U.S. in a position of having to help defend Iran’s nuclear facilities from attacks from other nations, including Israel. A statute in one of the deal’s annexes states the U.S. and its partners will provide “Co-operation through training and workshops to strengthen Iran’s ability to protect against, and respond to nuclear security threats, including sabotage, as well as to enable effective and sustainable nuclear security and physical protection systems.”

While interpretation of this provision varies, the disintegrating relationship between Israel and the Obama administration gives one reason to worry.

words 4

Simply put, any deal that allows Iran to become a nuclear power at any point is a poor one. The JCPOA is naive agreement based on trust that Iran has never earned.

Congress should shut this deal down.

Mark Caserta: Abortion atrocities must be stopped

9.4.15

=================================

In light of the recent exposure of even more horrific business practices committed by our nation’s largest abortion provider, I would be hard pressed to name an organization any more insidious than Planned Parenthood.

Following a Los Angeles judge dissolving a temporary restraining order on the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), the group recently released its eighth investigative video exposing the reprehensible tactics employed by Planned Parenthood to “profit” from its abortion services.

pp

In the video, StemExpress CEO Cate Dyer admitted that her company received “intact” aborted baby bodies from the abortion clinics with whom they work. In the dialogue with CMP investigative reporters, Dyer coldly shares the fiscal “advantages” and watch-outs of shipping intact baby parts.

“Oh, yeah, I mean if you have intact cases – which we’ve done a lot – so we sometimes ship those back to our lab in its entirety,” Dyer said while dining and sipping wine. “Tell the lab it’s coming,” she giggled about shipping the baby’s heads. “They don’t want to open the box, go, ‘Oh God!'”

Until earlier this month, StemExpress, a biotech company in northern California, partnered with Planned Parenthood to obtain aborted baby parts for medical research. In the secretly recorded video, Dyer’s callous disregard for the murdered children was ghastly. Such heartless demeanor makes one wonder just how far Planned Parenthood has gone during an abortion procedure to preserve the baby’s parts for profit.

In a press release accompanying the video, CMP suggests the practice might include the ruthless, illegal procedure known as “live birth abortion.” The release read: “Feticidal chemicals like digoxin cannot be used to kill the fetus in a tissue procurement case, so a fetus delivered intact for organ harvesting is likely to be a born-alive infant.”

The video also shows Dyer acknowledging that not only do abortion clinics prove fatal for babies, but they also may endanger women. Dyer admitted “rampant, rampant problems with bacteria” in certain clinics where Planned Parenthood is involved.

Planned Parenthood received more than $528 million in taxpayer funding during fiscal year 2013-2014, according to it and news media sources. This amounted to more than $1.4 million per day, in government grants, contracts and Medicaid reimbursements. And while liberals boast that only a small portion of these funds are used for abortions, understand that when a business receives money, regardless of the department, it relieves financial pressure on the entire organization. So in fact, this federal funding is integral to Planned Parenthood’s infanticide.

What sort of society would continue to condone such abhorrent behavior? Have we become so desensitized to death that destroying the lives of the unborn and shipping boxes of baby’s heads for sale doesn’t shock us anymore? Have we become so complacent with our liberal, dysfunctional society that we’ll commute such wretched behaviors in the name of “progressivism”?

A society which tolerates these atrocities is doomed for ensuing wickedness far beyond imagination – wickedness which our children will face because of our apathy.

It’s expedient that Americans willing to stand up against this abominable behavior, propagated by progressives, rise to be heard.

Mark Caserta: Christians lacking in fight for religious freedom

27 Aug

mark

Mark Caserta: Free State Patriot Editor

Where are they?

Recently, a Georgia high school football program was attacked by the American Humanist Association (AHA), a group of atheists, for quoting scripture to the players and leading them in prayer. Football coaches at Chestatee High School in Gainesville are accused of quoting scripture on team documents and pre-game banners and regularly leading the War Eagles in prayer. The AHA sent a letter in early August demanding that coaches cut team-sanctioned prayers and remove all Bible verses and other religious messages from team documents and materials.

So, where are the Christians?

 jesus muhammad

Last year, an Ohio public high school principle in Marion City Schools ordered a copy of the Ten Commandments to be taken down. For years the plaque hung in the Harding High School hallway next to the preamble of the Constitution after it had been gifted to the school by their class of 1953. The school system said it acted to avoid legal challenges that had been prompted by similar Ten Commandment displays in other Ohio public school districts.

But, where are the Christians?

In 2003, an Alabama judicial ethics panel removed Chief Justice Roy Moore from office for defying a federal judge’s order to move a Ten Commandments monument from the state Supreme Court building, claiming it was an unconstitutional endorsement of religion. The panel stated Moore put himself above the law by “willfully and publicly” flouting the order to remove the monument from the state’s judicial building’s rotunda.

Again, where were the Christians?

But wait! Where are the atheists regarding the Muslim religion?

In February of this year, students at Seminole County High School system in Florida were required to recite an Islamic prayer as part of a world history class lesson at Lyman High School. The students also had to make an Islamic prayer rug as a homework assignment. Controversy ensued as some parents feared school-sponsored indoctrination of the Muslim religion.

So where were the atheists?

In January 2015, students in the Revere, Massachusetts, public school system were forced to learn about the principles and core tenets of Islam, as well as being forced to learn the Islam conversion prayer. An article published by the website “American Overlook” shared that while some parents were completely outraged, most of the liberal parents were “one hundred percent okay with it” and did not mind it at all.

But, where are the atheists?

In January of this year, the Douglas County School District in Colorado announced a world religions field trip to a nearby Denver Mosque. In the announcement they said that any school girl choosing to attend the Rocky Middle School trip would be expected to follow the Muslim dress code for woman required by Shariah Law.

Again, where are the atheists?

Atheists and liberals aren’t focused on denying our right to express all religious beliefs only Christianity.

And Christians are lacking in the fight.

Mark Caserta: Americans must listen to politicians carefully

20 Aug

Mark Caserta:  Free State Patriot Editor

Aug. 20, 2015 @ 12:01 AM

Esteemed words from politicians with a flair for oratory have played a significant role in molding U.S. history. Leveraging an inspirational quote from a beloved representative of the people has been quite common in capturing the vibrancy of the American spirit throughout the years.

Unfortunately, over time, nefarious elected officials have scarred the public’s ability to take politicians’ words at face value. And certainly, Bill and Hillary Clinton have helped changed the lingual face of politics as we’ve come to know it.

MONICA 1

About 17 years ago, after being caught in an inappropriate relationship with 24-year-old White House intern Monica Lewinsky, Bill Clinton famously told the nation, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.” In a videotaped testimony before a federal grand jury, Clinton proposed the type of “activities” in which he and Monica engaged were not “sexual relations” as he understood it.

But as secretly recorded tapes began to emerge along with word of a “blue dress” that may have conclusive DNA evidence confirming the president’s affair, Clinton’s stance began to soften. During his carefully worded testimony, he argued, “It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is'” is in regards to the truthfulness of his statement that “there is not a sexual relationship, an improper sexual relationship or any other kind of improper relationship.”

MONICA 2

Clinton’s parsing of words didn’t fly with independent counsel Ken Starr or the federal grand jury and he became only the second president in American history impeached by the House of Representatives. While a Senate trial failed to remove him from office, Clinton’s impeachment remains an embarrassing stain on his legacy.

Not to be outdone by her hubby, Hillary Clinton has begun incorporating a similar form of explication regarding her use of her personal email server while Secretary of State.

Following the revelation that Hillary had set up her own unsecure server, the question arose as to whether she had committed a felony by using her server for classified communications. While initially fielding questions about her actions during a March press conference, Clinton declared, “I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email.”

But Hillary dodged the fact that she had received classified email on her server, in violation of 18 USC 1924, which makes it a crime to have classified information at an “unauthorized location.” Last week, upon learning that Intelligence officials had uncovered at least two emails containing classified State Department information, Hillary “adjusted” her initial response to include she had never sent or received any emails that were “marked” classified.

MONICA 3

“Most importantly I never sent classified material on my email and I never received any that was marked classified,” Clinton said during a press conference at the Iowa State Fair.

But since Hillary’s emails never made it to an authorized server, how could officials properly classify them?

Such is the new political patter or the abuse of the literal interpretation of a statement, which Americans must now be unceasingly aware.

Thanks for propagating the dialectal dishonesty, Bill and Hillary.

Mark Caserta: Next president must meet these criteria

13 Aug

MARK CASERTA: FREE STATE PATRIOT EDITOR

Aug. 13, 2015 @ 12:01 AM

So, which candidate do you like for president in 2016?

Usually, as the presidential election debate season begins, friends and family will begin asking me questions akin to the one above. Most of the time I’ll accommodate them with whom I believe possesses the best qualifications for the job, but this year is different. With so many qualified GOP candidates, it’s just too early to say.

gop

But from a conservative’s perspective, any candidate on stage last week at the GOP debate in Cleveland would be better than the “community organizer” we have now. As we all should be doing, I’ll simply be watching and listening the next few months to the platforms of the candidates so I’ll be prepared to make the best choice.

However, I waste no time sharing who we don’t want in office. The best the Democrats have to offer so far is a scandal-ridden Hillary Clinton and the self-declared socialist senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders, who’s gaining on Hillary in some polls.

But I don’t believe the Democrat Party’s eventual nominee has yet emerged. I believe someone will have to step up to salvage the party’s 2016 chances. Perhaps, the “king of gaffe,” Joe Biden, or the great “flip flopper” John Kerry will be the one. But right now, Democrats are quaking in their boots at the thought of challenging a highfalutin Clinton for the presidency. It is, after all, her turn.

Our nation has been on a slippery slope for over 6 years. It’s imperative we choose the right candidate for our next president, for the next president surely will have hands full redressing America from Barack Obama’s “fundamental change.” These are some inherent qualifications we must demand.

Our next president must have integrity. I’m amazed at the lies we’ve been told by President Obama, yet his own party never calls him out. Remember the “If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep your healthcare plan” promise? We must demand the next president be truthful with the American people at all times!

Our next commander-in-chief must be savvy in military and foreign affairs. We must regain the respect around the globe that our inept “diplomatic” policies have destroyed. Currently, our enemies don’t fear us – and our allies don’t trust us. We should adopt Ronald Reagan’s policy of “peace through strength,” not peace through appeasement.

Jobs and the economy must be a priority. Our next president must understand business and economics. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, over 46 million people or 15 percent of the population are living in poverty. And the labor force participation rate is the lowest it’s been since 1978. Yet, Democrats continue to leverage deceptive numbers regarding both the economy and the unemployment rate. It doesn’t matter that good-paying jobs are becoming exceedingly scarce and families are hurting.

Finally, the next president for whom you vote must be a God-fearing man. Progressives are tenaciously attacking anything that remotely resembles morality and God’s Word.

They must understand it will take more than a man to return America to greatness.

DOUG SMITH: A MARK OF NOBILITY

9 Aug

DOUG SMITH

Doug Smith is an author, historian and regular contributor to Free State Patriot.

8.9.15

I think you may judge of a man’s character by the persons whose affection he seeks. If you find a man seeking only the affection of those who are great, depend upon it he is ambitious and self-seeking; but when you observe that a man seeks the affection of those who can do nothing for him, but for whom he must do everything, you know that he is not seeking himself, but that pure benevolence sways his heart.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

—–

It’s true, too. We are a flawed people, led by flawed people, subject to all the foibles and weaknesses of flesh. Yet, a flawed man whose conscience nags him may still do the right thing, despite his faults. Or, he may say the right thing.

Which brings me to Donald Trump. I don’t like the guy. I find him unnecessarily rude, crude, and offensive. It think it is very likely that if he worked for anybody but himself, he would hear the phrase “You’re fired” often.

donaldDONKEY

He is, in short, an ass.

Yet he says some things that really resonate. The flood of illegal, uneducated foreigners coming to the US while maintaining the peasant culture, language, or mores from which they sought to escape is a huge problem. We need the courage to say so, and to act accordingly. Trump spits that truth out, crudely, but accurately.

We are in the 7th year of a failed Presidency, both in terms of economics, and foreign policy. We are suffering greatly from the policies and arrogance of Barack Obama. It is not racism to say so, though the President and his supporters hide behind that shield. But not from Trump. He calls it accurately, and in so doing hits a chord with millions who are out of work in the Obama economy, and do not feel they are suddenly racist for saying “Where is my job, Mr. President?” Trump doesn’t care what Obama or anyone else thinks about him. And that is admirable.

Yet, it is not so much the point that a billionaire, who will still be a billionaire if his mouth causes the whole world to stop doing business with him, can say what he will and not fear the backlash. It is not the number of politicians to whom he can purchase access.

It is rather how he acts on the other end of the spectrum.

And in this, Donald Trump seems to lack a basic morality. If he wants to call the President of the United States a blithering idiot; that is moral courage. When he calls to task an employee, or a reporter, or a waiter and talks to them like a common street bully that is not courage.

A mark of greatness in a President is not his deference to Queen Elizabeth, but his kindness to the cooks and maids and travel agents in the White House. In this respect, the Coolidge’s and the Reagans showed that common touch, while the Clintons did not.

Now Trump brings a bit of spine to the arena that has been missing. He has framed the questions that many have been afraid to even speak and put them on the national stage. For those things he is to be commended. But I’m not sure we want the maids to discover that they are a “bunch of bimbos.”

Other candidates can take a page from Trump and learn that the American public is sick of politics as usual, pick up the message there and say, Yes, Donald is right about that. And here is what I’ll do about it. Trump brings up some great points, and has some sound ideas.

Being a bully is not being brave. We know how Trump acts to the powerful.

Other Republicans should, and can, learn from his success in this coming year. I’m not sure Trump can stop being an ass in a year.

Mark Caserta: Obama’s war on coal has a cost

Liberals hate fossil fuels and have no plans to incorporate them into any sort of an “all of the above” energy strategy. And as the U.S. coal industry faces increased regulatory pressures from President Obama and his EPA minions, our state as well as others will continue to feel the economic crunch.

U.S. coal is used to generate about 40 percent of our nation’s electricity. As the Environmental Protection Agency, under Obama’s direction, intensifies regulations on the coal industry, expect electricity prices as well as associated costs to rise accordingly. Obama revealed this as part of his environmental plan early in his presidential campaign.

In a 2008 interview with The San Francisco Chronicle, Obama explained that under his plan of cap-and-trade, it was incumbent that our electricity prices should increase. The president’s progressive strategy obviously includes forcing the nation into pursuing green energy alternatives to avoid the mythical damages of carbon dioxide emissions.

obamacare a

“Under my plan of cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket,” Obama told the Chronicle. “Coal-powered plants, you know, natural gas, you name it, whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers.”

Every time I hear a liberal decry carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) as destroying our planet, I can’t help but wonder if they’ve ever taken a biology course. Literally thousands of laboratory and field experiments have conclusively demonstrated that enriching the air with CO2 stimulates the growth and development of nearly all plants. But apparently facts aren’t important to progressives when it comes to defending climate change.

Just this week, Barack Obama unveiled the final version of his unprecedented plan to clamp down on CO2 emissions from existing U.S. power plants in an effort to cripple the industry.

In the president’s proposal, he’s calling for even steeper cuts on greenhouse emissions than previously expected. Calling it the most significant step the U.S. has ever taken to fight global warming, he plans to reduce CO2 emissions by 32 percent from 2005 levels by 2030. Obama cites decades of data that he insists proposes we are facing more extreme weather and escalating health problems without tough action.

Opponents of Obama’s actions vow to sue immediately, and plan to ask the courts to put the rule on hold while legal challenges play out. Many states have already threatened not to comply.

Understand that as the price of electricity increases, every industry that relies on this utility will have to cover their losses by either raising their prices or reducing costs. In other words, there will be higher prices and fewer jobs for the American people.

food stamp pres

It’s fundamental economics, which this president simply cannot grasp.

This is yet another attempt by an autocratic, egotistical president to force his progressive ideology upon the American people with total disregard as to the ultimate price we’ll pay.

But, the cost to Americans and our nation has never prevented Barack Obama from his pursuit of fundamental change.
