As we look at the world around us, many of us are wondering if things could get much worse. In my lifetime, I can’t recall America ever being in such disarray. Indeed, the progressive movement is having its share of victories.

In such times of distress, it’s often valuable to step back and analyze exactly what’s happening and to what purpose it’s meant to serve. In doing so, those of us who are faith-based in our daily walk are able to see that progressives are desperately seeking to make Christianity irrelevant in their “new world order.”

Bringing God’s Word into question is prerequisite to redirect man’s thinking. Liberals would have you believe that having a steadfast faith in God is for “non-thinkers” and those unwilling to adapt to our changing times. After all, God couldn’t have possibly known how his children could evolve into such “intellectual” beings, able to think and surmise for themselves. He couldn’t possibly have known that we could develop such “god-like” characteristics and be able to live our lives free from the constraints and principles of His Word.

progressives

“For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear” 2 Timothy 4:3.

None of this is a surprise to our Heavenly Father, who knew us “before the foundation of the world.” He sent His only Son to experience the passions and weaknesses of this earth and was in all points tempted as we are. But in His vast love for His children, he provided His Word that we might be able to “overcome the world” through the teachings of Jesus Christ. But even then, God knew few would be willing to accept life on His terms.

“But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it,” Matthew 7:14.

Sadly, some of the valued spokespersons of the progressive movement are those professing Christianity while espousing any and all methods of circumventing God’s statutes. These are modern day “theologians” who essentially seek to redefine Christianity and are, in fact, enablers of a new “progressive” form of narcissistic salvation where man is God and without boundaries in his passions.

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them.” Matthew 7:15.

Stone by stone, these individuals are tearing down America’s foundation. Stitch by stitch they’re destroying the very fabric of our society. Redefining the family unit, designed by God, is paramount to their endeavor. It includes removing barriers preventing men and women from pleasuring themselves with any earthly abomination and offering an entrancing, alternative lifestyle – all in the name of love.

These progressive successes are very temporary and offer gratification only for a season. At some point, every individual will reap from the choices they’ve made in life.

And poor choices always have consequences.

About us:

Free State Patriot is a conservative blog that’s working hard, sometimes behind the scenes, to expose the progressive movement in the United States. And we’re making a difference. We have thousands of followers in 14 different countries and so far in 2015, Free State Patriot has had hits from 74 nations around the globe!

And we’re looking to grow.

We stand for Christian conservative values, the Bible and the U.S. Constitution. And we won’t compromise an inch on any of the three.

You see, compromise to a progressive, is like blood to a shark. They advance their agenda slowly, but methodically. To the uninformed, it will most likely happen without them knowing it.

But that’s where Free State Patriot is committed to stepping in and exposing their devious strategies. And we don’t like to lose.

And with God in our corner…we can’t possibly fail.

So what would you attempt in life if you KNEW it was impossible to fail?

Maybe it’s time to get involved and find out.

Thank you, Professor of Sociology Adam Swift, University of Warwick, England.

We have met the enemy, and he is Winnie the Pooh. Professor (not so) Swift has shown us the way, the way of the Left. For once it is so clear.

The good Prof thinks that parents who read to their children are unfairly disadvantaging the kids who do not have parents who read to them. “A Bear, however hard he tries, grows tubby without exercise.” Poor Winnie. All these years he has been guilty of disadvantaging the kids who did not hear his stories, and Treasure Island, Narnia, or the journey of a little fellow named Baggins.

Funny. I wish I had the advantage of a Leftist education. I never knew. I thought that reading to your kids was a good thing. That it made them better people, expanded their minds, helped them love to read, and made them feel loved.  Good stuff.

But no. It is not fair to do things to raise them up, because others are left behind by not being read to, and that is not fair. So, we should let all our children settle to the bottom level of the least among us.

Pooh is the enemy of fairness.

POOH 3

Inadvertently, perhaps, Swift has given us a capsule summary of the whole premise of the Left s thought process.  Never seek to raise anyone. Anyone who is raised up, in any way, must be torn down. Except for us. Note the Professor Swift does NOT maintain that it would be fair for him to give up his tenured position at the University, and go to McDonalds and make $ 15 bucks an hour. After all, we need the Prof and his ilk to tell the rest of us how we ought to live.  And no one can do that on minimum wage.

So we see the Left displayed for a moment, naked to the view.  Let us not say to the minimum wage worker, “ Read, stay off the drugs, don’t get your girlfriend pregnant, don’t have sex with your boyfriend and GET pregnant, get more education, show up for work on time, make yourself worth more, so you will get more.”  No, the Left says, enjoy your joint, it is unreasonable to expect you not to have sex, it is your right to have all the babies you want, starting at 16, and it is our ( but by that, they never mean “Their”, always someone else’s work, and money) duty to provide for the children, which we will not discourage.  If you show up and put on that McDonalds uniform (which they gave you) and wonder around behind the counter, we (again, not meaning Professor Swift, but Ray Kroc) ought to give you enough to raise a family.  But at the same time, we are not going to make you feel bad by insisting that you avoid the drugs, stay with one woman and help raise the family you helped create.  After all, if you begat 21 children by 10 women, SOMEBODY has to be responsible for taking care of them.

But not you. And not Professor Swift. And don’t you read to them and encourage them to stay in school. That would not be fair.

We (ready for that pay cut yet, Prof?) will take care of everything.  “We” will support your right to live a life of poverty, with a few frills, and extort your sustenance from others, as long as you support us staying in power.  Meanwhile. I’ll tell others what to do, make them feel guilty for what they have, and what they do, and breathing, and eating.  And I’ll continue to envision a Leftist Utopia, where everyone is equal, and on the bottom, and miserable, but grateful.

Except We, and this time I DO mean we, have to live better, eat better, because we are better, and think better, and know better, how to provide all this for you, who are forever incapable. No, no thanks necessary. My reward is knowing you are in paradise. And a quarter mill a year salary as Dean for Cultural Equality.

And it all starts with Winnie the Pooh. Sorry, silly old Bear.

Abe Lincoln once said, “The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next.”

Truer words were never spoken. For years progressives have sought ways to infiltrate the classroom at an early age to begin the indoctrination of liberalism. Their methodology has been to sow seeds of discontent with current standards while proposing a “progressive” alternative. Typically, this liberal solution involves more government control and fewer individual rights.

For those less informed, the Common Core State Standards Initiative appears to be the result of years of exhaustive and collaborative effort aimed at raising the achievement levels of students across the country.

common core 2

But for those focused on reality, Common Core is a premeditated, liberal attack on states’ and parents’ rights to control local education. All across America, concerned parents and students are refusing to participate in new tests aligned with the Common Core state standards.

“The explosive growth of the opt-out movement has been one extremely encouraging development in a sea of bad news when it comes to government education in the United States,” said Alex Newman, international journalist and educator, in a World Net Daily interview. “As more and more parents and teachers realize what is going on with Common Core, I expect this movement to continue growing by leaps and bounds.”

Newman, who co-authored the book, “Crimes of the Educators: How Utopians are Using Government Schools to Destroy America’s Children,” views Common Core as profound government overreach into our lives.

“There is no doubt that this Obama scheme to nationalize education is designed not to educate children properly, but to shape their minds with propaganda and reduce their critical thinking abilities for nefarious purposes,” Newman said.

And indeed, this apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Common Core standards stem from a 2008 task force created by then Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano (Barack Obama’s Secretary of Homeland Security from 2009-2013) as a result of her apparent dissatisfaction with the U.S. school system’s ability to “adequately prepare” students for entering the workforce. Napolitano’s group of governors and recognized “experts” in higher education prepared a report that would eventually serve as the building blocks for Common Core.

Now the curricula issues and potential unintended consequences tied to Common Core are so vast, it would be impossible to adequately address them in this venue. But this attempted liberal coup on public education is apparent.

Common Core, as defined on its website, is a “set of high-quality academic standards in mathematics and English language arts/literacy which defines what students should know and be able to do each grade.” The entire Common Core conception narrows the purpose of public education to “college and career readiness” and excludes the foundational principles our state constitutions give for establishing an educational system led by parents and local educators.

Clearly, this proposed set of standards is an attempt by progressives to control states’ and parents’ rights where educating our children is concerned. Liberals simply want a greater presence in the classroom.

Common Core grants them that presence.

Mark Caserta: God’s infallibility cannot be reasoned

12 Mar

Yet, progressive are still trying to convince us that God makes mistakes!

FSP EDITOR: MARK CASERTA

Self-proclaimed theologians have been attempting to prove the fallibility of God since Jesus’ ministry on earth. The Sadducees and Pharisees, two “religious” sects of the time, were constantly trying to entrap Jesus by asking him loaded questions about the scriptures and life in general.

Understand, the progressive mantra is to perpetually propagate the message that having absolute faith in God is not something for the “thinking man.”

But God’s wisdom has always prevailed against those who would challenge His power and authority. And for anyone to espouse an understanding of His Word, and yet, spend more time attempting to prove God’s fallacy than spreading the Gospel, is the epitome of hypocrisy.

It’s my belief that those having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ are empowered with a spirit of discernment that enables them to identify false prophets and steer clear of their promulgation.

But let me be clear. God did not call His people to silence! It’s been the church’s silence that’s allowed the progressive movement to become a formidable faction! So I choose to use my pen and this piece to share what I believe to be the theology of a “true believer.”

Liberals know that to move forward “progressively” they must cause believers to question their faith in God, essentially opening the door to “reason.” But God’s Word isn’t dependent on man’s wisdom, but rather man’s faith.

Faith, as the Bible tells us, is the “substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Depending on the translation, the word “faith” was used nearly 300 times in the Bible and is prerequisite to accepting God as being omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. That is, He is unrestricted, all-seeing and everywhere!

In two of the Gospels, the Pharisees sought to repudiate Jesus’ good works and diminish Him before the people. So they plotted to entangle Him before His followers by asking him a question regarding paying taxes to Rome, a topic sure to create division.

“Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?” they asked. But Jesus “perceived their wickedness,” according to the scriptures, and said, “Why tempt me, ye hypocrites? Show me the tribute money.” After handing Him a penny, he asked them, “Whose is this image and superscription?” They replied, “Caesar’s”. Then, with the wisdom of His Father, Jesus said, “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.”

The Bible says “they marveled, left him and went their way”.

Yet, today, men still seek to diminish God.

I have never seen the face of God, nor have I touched the nail-scarred hands of my savior, Jesus Christ. And I certainly can’t “reason” His grace.

But faith isn’t driven by the ability to reason with one’s mind, but by the ability to believe with one’s heart. And if we are to believe that there is even an “ounce” of fallibility in God’s Word, true faith would be impossible.

So for me and my house, we will continue to serve the Lord, by faith.

America Is Coming Apart at the Seams

7 Dec

america coming apart

2012 Dec 5, 2014 3:39 PM EST

By Francis Wilkinson

It was the most Republican of times, it was the most Democratic of times.

That’s the U.S. right now, a nation heading in two diametrically opposed directions. Where you live in the country has always influenced how you live. But divergent public policy choices, rooted in sharp partisan conflict, are heightening the geographic distinctions.

House Republicans this week passed legislation designed primarily to channel conservative rage and secondarily to vaporize 11 million or so undocumented immigrants living in the U.S. Republicans won’t provide funds to deport the immigrants, and they won’t provide a method of rationalizing those immigrants’ existence here. So they will simply pretend that they don’t exist.

In January, the first Republican legislative act of 2015 is expected to be another vote to repeal Obamacare, the health-care reform that has been working out better than even its proponents predicted.

Meanwhile, across the the continent, California Democratic Governor Jerry Brown also has immigrants and health care on his mind. Brown is analyzing whether the state can extend its version of Medicaid health insurance to undocumented immigrants who are covered by President Barack Obama’s executive action on amnesty.

OBAMACARE

“We’re still evaluating, but the president’s recent action on undocumented immigrants could perhaps open a door for more coverage of more people under Medi-Cal,’’ Nancy McFadden, the governor’s top policy aide, told the Los Angeles Times.

California is not just a blue state with a Democratic governor and legislature. It’s home to almost one in eight Americans. And it has by far the nation’s largest population of undocumented immigrants — one in four live there, according to the Pew Research Center.

So in the very near future, undocumented immigrants who reside in California (some by virtue of having snuck illegally over the border) may be covered by publicly-funded health insurance while many U.S. citizens living in Texas and the Deep South will have no access to health insurance of any kind, thanks to the Republican war on Obamacare. (In Texas, more than one quarter of the population lacks health insurance, a number that seems stubbornly resistant to the charms of the “Texas miracle.”)

The U.S. also looks like two different places when it comes to guns and abortion. In Washington state, for example, where abortion law was recently liberalized, there are no waiting periods, mandated parental involvement or limitations on publicly funded abortion. In Mississippi, restrictions are plentiful, and the state government has been working steadily to shut the sole abortion clinic in the state. On guns, Connecticut voters reelected a Democratic governor who supported sweeping gun regulations in the wake of the Newtown shooting. In Georgia, you can now legally carry a loaded firearm into a bar.

immigration 1

Then there are voting rights. Legislators in red states, such as North Carolina and Texas, have been adding carefully crafted layers of difficulty to voting, from voter ID laws to reduced early voting and restrictions on student ballots. Illinois, meanwhile, appears poised to enact same-day registration for voting.

The Chicago Sun-Times:

Besides allowing people to register and vote on the same day at polling places, the bill would allow extended early voting, as well as make it easier for students to vote at college campuses.

Increasingly, the rights of many American citizens depend less on the U.S. Constitution and more on which state they live in. Again, this isn’t a new phenomenon — especially for blacks, who had no guaranteed rights in most of the South for most of American history. But the divergence is stark.

And growing. As Bloomberg News reporter Greg Giroux reported, many red and blue states are only deepening their partisan identities as voters increasingly abandon split-ticket voting:

If Louisiana Democrat Mary Landrieu loses her runoff election next week, the Senate that convenes in January will have 84 senators of the same political party that carried their state in the most recent presidential election. That’s the most in more than six decades, according to statistics compiled by Gary Jacobson, a political scientist at the University of California at San Diego. There were 61 such senators in 1999, after the second midterm election of President Bill Clinton’s administration, and 43 in 1987.

There’s also more partisan alignment in voting for the House of Representatives and for president.

Polarization has its own logic. And as red and blue states pursue their sharply divergent versions of government, each increasingly presents a vision of Dickensian hell to the other.

KENDALL RICE: Progressives should practice the “tolerance” they preach.

7 Aug

progressive movmt

Progressives are the true class of freedom haters who preach tolerance while being intolerant of all other views. The only votes they receive have been bought and paid for through corporate or public welfare. They have marginalized blacks within urban public school ghettos as the new form of segregation. They follow the model built upon the backs of Native Americans placed on reservations which created a culture of addiction with gambling as a way of life.

If any wish to verify the racist origins of the Progressive era just google Buck v. Bell, a 1928 Supreme Court decision to see for yourself.

The entire welfare nanny state shows how Progressives have created a permanent underclass by chaining them with their permanent safety nets. After breeding dependency among millions they prey upon them by dictating the terms of their existence by creating penalties for anyone of this class who wishes to explore opportunities to better oneself. The last thing they want is their victims escaping the hold of the poverty pimps for that would require cutting the budgets of their beloved bureaucratic agencies. These agencies never eliminate poverty, they breed it to justify their growth.

Instead of just teaching people how to fish Progressives want to give them fish, paid for only by the middle class, for the rest of their lives to make them dependent upon their benevolence. The welfare state is the prime ministry of their Sharia type theology carved, not out of private charity, freedom, or opportunity, but codified by statute within their legalistic tradition. Therefore we get 70K pages of new federal regulations year in and out.

CS Lewis had their number a long time ago:

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience

Proving that their ideas are in decline the Progressives quickly replaced Global Warming with Climate Change, which shows that all they have left is rhetoric and Chicken Little tactics. Most forget that they first tried this 40 years ago with end of the world as we know it Global Cooling.

So where is Phil Jones? Have they found him yet?

All Progressives know how to do is raise new taxes to buy new votes. That is the essence of global warming fear mongering, meanwhile in the midst of the summer, the temp. today is but 74 degrees; which demonstrates that facts don’t sway the zealots among us.

Mark Caserta: One demographic can block progressivism

7 Aug

progressive
Aug. 07, 2014 @ 12:00 AM

Liberals would like nothing better than to convince Americans that progressive ideology merges with mainstream values. In point of fact, nothing could be further from the truth.

Progressives quietly understand that successfully imposing their ideological beliefs upon America requires systematically creating a voter base which can sustain their movement.

In the fifth and final addition of my series, “Exposing the Progressive Movement in the United States,” we’ll deal with the heart and soul of the progressive stratagem to fundamentally change America.

Propagating progressive ideology has nothing to do with offering new, innovative solutions to our nation’s woes. It does, however, have everything to do with acquiring votes!

Consider “for whom the ‘bureaucratic’ bell tolls” within the Obama administration.

The “war on women” theme was a key component of Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign. And rest assured, it will continue to escalate into 2016, no doubt in preparation for a Hillary Clinton campaign where all opposition will be treated as evidence of sexism.

The race card has become the wild card for liberals and many Democrats. Progressives would have you believe that anyone who offers criticism of this president, or any “liberal” African-American member of his administration, must be a racist.

As the first sitting president to openly support same-sex marriage, I believe Barack Obama’s “evolution” in his position on gay marriage was politically expedient to proselytize the LGBT vote heading into a very contentious 2012 presidential election where the delineation in ideology between conservatives and liberals could be no clearer.

To say liberal Democrats court the Hispanic vote is an understatement. Liberals continue to vehemently fight against voter ID laws claiming suppression of their voter base. And they’re right! Under what circumstances would a “legal” individual not be able to obtain a simple identification card for the purpose of voting in a U.S. election?

And it’s absolutely criminal what liberals are willing to sacrifice to protect the environmentalist vote. Obama’s willingness to allow American’s electricity costs to skyrocket to advance his war on coal, not to mention the impact on coal families, is very telling indeed. And blocking the Keystone Pipeline is, well, progressive.
progressives

For the first time in history, working age people now make up the majority in U.S. households that rely on food stamps.

A low-wage job supplemented with food stamps is becoming increasingly common as more hard-working people are becoming trapped in the net of a progressive administration.

Winning the popular vote is prerequisite to the progressive movement’s impetus, even if it requires some liberal kowtowing.

Yet, we are not without hope. There is still one demographic the progressive movement will never own — Christians.

Polling suggests as much as 77 percent of Americans identify with the Christian faith. If we work together we can take back our country and return her to Godly principles. But we must not “be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

Friends, only one thing will stop the progressive movement — a Christian movement.

And it’s time for revival.

Mark Caserta: Progressivism extracts a price from middle class

31 Jul

middle class

Jul. 31, 2014 @ 12:00 AM

Not unlike an accomplished illusionist who deceives the mind into believing something that is not true, the Obama administration and liberal abettors are using smoke and mirrors to fool Americans into believing our economy is trending in the right direction.

In the fourth of my series exposing the stratagem of the progressive movement in our society, we’ll look at how liberals leverage auspicious economic metrics to obscure our nation’s troubling long-term economic outlook.

Let’s begin by examining how liberal media outlets exploit the U.S. stock market to espouse economic success for the Obama administration.

The Federal Reserve Board’s Open Market Committee is the single most important federal agency to the stock market. Its action or inaction on interest rates has immediate consequences for investors, and the market tracks and anticipates those actions very carefully.

Now, by law, the Fed must conduct monetary policy to achieve maximum employment, stable prices and moderate, long-term interest rates.

While the three major indexes, the NASDAQ, the Dow and the S&P 500, have all been experiencing consistent gains and record highs, many fail to understand the volatile bubble forming around our economy.

Consider that $1 doesn’t buy as much as it used to in the grocery store. Thanks to inflation, you have to make more money today to be able to buy as much as you did just a few years ago. The same is true for the stock market.

While many believe the Federal Reserve literally prints money, it actually doesn’t. It engages in a creative form of bookkeeping called “quantitative easing,” which provides an illusion of gain and essentially props up the nation’s economy along with investor confidence.

Never in recent economic history have interest rates been so low for so long. I believe the Fed comprehends our economic instability primarily caused by our nation’s unemployment and realizes raising rates would cause this so-called recovery to crumble like the walls of Jericho around us!

But liberals use multiple illusions of grandeur to hide the fact Obama is hurting the very people he promised to liberate.

food stamps

When the government reports the unemployment rate is down to 6.1 percent, remember this represents only those who are available and have actively sought employment over the prior four weeks. Our nation’s true unemployment rate, or total unemployed including those working part-time due to economic conditions, is around 12.9 percent.

While liberals celebrate meager job creation, remember the actual number of Americans participating in the labor force, currently at 67 percent, is the lowest it’s been since 1978. And sadly, according to the Heritage Foundation, nearly 20 percent of households now depend on food assistance from the U.S. government.

It should anger America that Barack Obama built his presidential campaigns on fighting for the middle class, yet the gap between the haves and the have-nots has grown wider than ever.

Under the current administration, America is increasingly moving away from a society that flourishes under self-reliance and personal responsibility and toward one which traps families in a long-term relationship with big government.

Just more fruit of the progressive movement.
