Mark Caserta: ISIS to Christians: Convert to Islam

“Let the terrorist group, ISIS, see the manifestation of the Lord Jesus Christ,” decreed Pastor Chuck Lawrence this past Sunday during the morning worship service at Christ Temple Church in Huntington.

Pastor Lawrence referenced the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria’s recent rampage of violence and religious cleansing across northern Iraq following the return of a Christ Temple missionary from the troubled region. On Wednesday of last week, the humanitarian crisis was upgraded by the United Nations to a “Level 3 Emergency,” the organization’s highest ranking of severity.

ISIS jihadists have now declared the captured territories a new Islamic State, restoring “caliphate” in the Middle East. Multiple reports confirm that religious minorities, including Christians, are enduring horrific atrocities for refusing to denounce their religion and convert to Islam.

Understand the scope of all Islamist movements from their earliest inception was to re-establish the Islamic Caliphate, which is believed to be the panacea to every Muslim ill around the world.

But Islamic jihadists are ruthless in their approach to eradicating Christianity.

While addressing the plight of Christians in Mosul, national spokesperson for Iraqi Christians, Mark Arabo, said the “evil” being carried out by ISIS militants in Iraq now shockingly includes beheadings of children.

“They are systematically beheading children, and mothers and fathers,” Arabo told CNN’s Jonathan Mann. “There’s actually a park in Mosul that they’ve actually beheaded children and put their heads on a stick.” Mann described the acts as the “most heartbreaking” things imaginable.

Reportedly, Christians were given three options: convert to Islam, pay a fine or die by the sword. Those fleeing to neighboring areas of Iraq harbor little hope of returning.

“They’ve marked the red stamp of death on Christian homes and basically saying we know who you are and if you come back, you will be killed,” said Arabo.

In his weekly address, President Obama told Americans the U.S. will not be dragged “into fighting another Iraq war” despite his authorization of military air strikes in the region.

But I submit that if the president hadn’t completely ignored the escalating unrest in the region and misled the American people for almost two years, ISIS may never have been allowed to balloon into such a regional power.

Experts agree that while these ISIS jihadists are now a distinctly different organization, they were parented by al Qaeda. Yet, Barack Obama described al Qaeda as having been “decimated,” “on the path to defeat” or some variation at least 32 times since the attack in Benghazi, according to White House transcripts.

Excuse me, Mr. President, but how did this group become so powerful in just a few months? Your recent disclaimer to being responsible for the decision to withdraw troops from Iraq is very telling. Apparently, once again, you see failure on the horizon and want to re-write history and blame your predecessor.

So I’m certain you shoulder no blame for the thousands of Christians being persecuted for a faith many are simply willing to die to protect.

May Pastor Lawrence’s heavenly request be honored and Iraqi Christians be protected by God’s mighty hand.

OBAMA PROMISED NO VACATIONS???? REALLY?

Weasel Zippers has revived an old video of Barack Obama promising not to take vacations if he were elected president.

The video features then-Sen. Obama discussing his book “The Audacity Of Hope” with New York Times columnist Bob Herbert in 2008.

The future president was talking about how those running for president need to be prepared to “give their life to it.”

“The bargain that any president strikes with is, you give me this office and in turn my, fears, doubts, insecurities, foibles, need for sleep, family life, vacations, leisure is gone,” Obama said. “I am giving myself to you.”

Obama went on to say that “the American people should have no patience for what’s going on in your head because you’ve got a job to do” and that people should only run for president if they’re willing to make that sacrifice.

When asked by the host if he could imagine himself making that kind of commitment, he said, “Sure.”

Weasel Zippers used the quote to criticize Obama, saying he “then proceeded to hit the golf course 186 times (and counting).”

The president has also been criticized for taking a vacation to Martha’s Vineyard while international crises are occurring.

KENDALL RICE: Progressives should practice the “tolerance” they preach.

Progressives are the true class of freedom haters who preach tolerance while being intolerant of all other views. The only votes they receive have been bought and paid for through corporate or public welfare. They have marginalized blacks within urban public school ghettos as the new form of segregation. They follow the model built upon the backs of Native Americans placed on reservations which created a culture of addiction with gambling as a way of life.

If any wish to verify the racist origins of the Progressive era just google Buck v. Bell, a 1928 Supreme Court decision to see for yourself.

The entire welfare nanny state shows how Progressives have created a permanent underclass by chaining them with their permanent safety nets. After breeding dependency among millions they prey upon them by dictating the terms of their existence by creating penalties for anyone of this class who wishes to explore opportunities to better oneself. The last thing they want is their victims escaping the hold of the poverty pimps for that would require cutting the budgets of their beloved bureaucratic agencies. These agencies never eliminate poverty, they breed it to justify their growth.

Instead of just teaching people how to fish Progressives want to give them fish, paid for only by the middle class, for the rest of their lives to make them dependent upon their benevolence. The welfare state is the prime ministry of their Sharia type theology carved, not out of private charity, freedom, or opportunity, but codified by statute within their legalistic tradition. Therefore we get 70K pages of new federal regulations year in and out.

Proving that their ideas are in decline the Progressives quickly replaced Global Warming with Climate Change, which shows that all they have left is rhetoric and Chicken Little tactics. Most forget that they first tried this 40 years ago with end of the world as we know it Global Cooling.

So where is Phil Jones? Have they found him yet?

All Progressives know how to do is raise new taxes to buy new votes. That is the essence of global warming fear mongering, meanwhile in the midst of the summer, the temp. today is but 74 degrees; which demonstrates that facts don’t sway the zealots among us.

“…HE WANTS US TO IMPEACH HIM NOW”, SAYS TEXAS REPRESENTATIVE.

Barack%20Obama-JTM-046564McALLEN, Texas – Observing what he could only describe as “chaos on the border” during a midnight tour of the Rio Grande on Friday, Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, concluded, “President Obama is begging to be impeached.”

“For all I know, Obama is preparing to process 5 million illegal immigrant kids and teenagers into the United States,” Stockman said upon observing border operations near McAllen, Texas.

“He wants us to impeach him now,” Stockman theorized, “before the midterm election because his senior advisers believe that is the only chance the Democratic Party has to avoid a major electoral defeat. Evidently Obama believes impeachment could motivate the Democratic Party base to come out and vote.”

Accompanied by a WND film crew, Stockman began the evening by stopping at a massive Department of Homeland Security detention facility a mile or two north of the Mexican border, only to be encountered by seven or eight armed Border Patrol agents who approached him and WND for questioning.

Though polite, a Border Patrol supervisor speaking from behind the chain-link fence that surrounded the facility refused to allow Stockman to tour the facility.

Through the chain-linked fence, the WND film crew took video of an active hangar-like open building cooled by two massive fans in which teenage illegal immigrants were being searched for concealed weapons as they were being processed into the detention facility.

Sign the petition demanding Congress follow through on impeaching Obama.

Within minutes, as Stockman began asking questions of the Border Patrol supervisor, the hanger-like intake facility was shut down and emptied of illegal immigrant teenagers being processed by more than a dozen Border Patrol agents.

“We release all detainees under 14 years of age without taking any biometric identification, including no fingerprints,” the Border Patrol agent explained to Stockman. “We are prevented by law from taking fingerprints or other biometric information on these kids.”

The Border Patrol supervisor could not identify for Stockman the law in question.

“Then how do you know who these children under 14 years old are?” Stockman asked. “How do you know if you are releasing these kids to people who are truly family members in the United States or to pedophiles or other criminals posing as family members?”

“We only know who these children are by what they tell us,” the Border Patrol supervisor admitted. “Truthfully, we don’t really have any idea who they might be or where they came from other than what we can observe from questioning them. You’re right. If they give us false information, we have no way to know it or to follow it up without biometrics.”

Stockman asked what information the Border Patrol has on the people in the United States who claim to be relatives.

“That’s not what our department handles,” the Border Patrol supervisor again admitted.

Back in the vehicle, frustrated at seeing the facility going into rapid shutdown mode once he and the WND film crew set up to film, Stockman expanded on the impeachment theme.

Stockman observed that rather than begin impeachment proceedings now, what the House of Representatives should do is to take away money from the Obama administration.

“The only way we’re going to stop Obama from opening the border is to take away the money he needs to operate,” Stockman concluded. “What we should do is shut down the White House.”

The definitive case for removing Barack Obama from office is presented in “Impeachable Offenses” by Aaron Klein and Brenda J. Elliott.

In a four-hour tour of McAllen roads leading to the Rio Grande that began at midnight, WND observed dozens of Border Patrol lock-up vehicles, with one marked “LICE” in large hand-written letters, transporting illegal immigrant detainees to destinations unknown to WND.

Every time WND’s vehicle approached the Rio Grande, Border Patrol trailed behind to engage in questioning once WND and Rep. Stockman stopped.

“Be careful, it’s a busy night out here,” one Border Patrol agent advised.

In another stop about a mile north of the border, WND observed a Border Patrol vehicle with an agent manning what appeared to be a 10-foot antenna scanning the surrounding open territory.

“It’s taking high-definition night-vision photographs,” the Border Patrol agent explained, as he dodged into the shadows to avoid being filmed in the bright lights of the WND film crew.

In a night in which Stockman described law enforcement presence on the McAllen border as “heavily active and in plain view,” the congressman and WND observed several Department of Public Safety state troopers patrolling the border in conjunction with the ever-present white-and-green-marked Border Patrol vehicles.

On Friday, Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., told WND in a cell-phone call from the airport that she and Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, are planning to join Stockman at the border in McAllen, arriving at noon Saturday.

OBAMA DETERMINED TO CHANGE AMERICA – VOWS TO ACT ON HIS OWN

Seemingly unfazed by the threat of a lawsuit, President Obama on Saturday vowed to press on and use executive actions wherever and whenever possible.

In his weekly address, the president didn’t directly address House Speaker John A. Boehner’s announcement earlier this week that he’ll sue Mr. Obama for supposed abuses of executive authority.

But the president did take aim at the so-called GOP “obstruction” that, in his view, necessitated the go-it-alone strategy now utilized by this White House — an approach that bypasses both the House and Senate.

“Republicans in Congress keep blocking or voting down almost every serious idea. This year alone they’ve said no to raising the minimum wage, no to fair pay, no to student loan reform, no to extending unemployment insurance,” Mr. Obama said. “This obstruction keeps the system rigged for those at the top and rigged against the middle class. And as long as they insist on doing it, I’ll keep taking actions on my own — like the actions I’ve already taken to attract new jobs, lift workers’ wages and help students pay off their loans. I’ll do my job.”

Mr. Obama’s remarks come as he attempts to reconnect with average Americans. On Thursday and Friday, the president spent time with a working mother in St. Paul, who had written a letter describing her family’s financial struggles.

While in the twin cities, Mr. Obama also visited local businesses, held a town-hall meeting and spoke at a Democratic party fundraiser.

At the fundraiser, he repeated his plea for a Democratic Congress, urging voters to give him the majority he needs to enact more of his agenda.

While Democrats say that agenda will greatly aid the middle class, Republicans allege the president and his allies on Capitol Hill actively are holding back projects that would create jobs and pump billions of dollars into the economy.

In the GOP weekly address, Louisiana Rep. Bill Cassidy — seeking the Senate seat now held by Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu — blasted Democrats for holding up the Keystone XL oil pipeline, which would create more than 40,000 jobs, according to the Obama administration’s own research.

“President Obama continues to oppose job-creating projects, such as Keystone,” Mr. Cassidy said. “Sadly, Democrats in Washington stand with President Obama rather than standing with hardworking families in Louisiana and elsewhere. They would rather your family struggle than offend their political base. President Obama and his allies like Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid are more interested in rolling out the red tape than the red carpet for these jobs.”

The president has delayed a decision on Keystone for the entirety of his time in office. A bill that would take the decision out of Mr. Obama’s hands passed a key Senate committee last week with bipartisan support, but Mr. Reid, Nevada Democrat, thus far has refused to allow it to come up for a full vote on the Senate floor.

Mark Caserta: National security no flippant matter

Admittedly, every administration leaks its share of classified information. But it seems Team Obama has raised the bar.

Last week, in one of Washington’s “Friday afternoon” information dumps, the White House admitted it had revealed the name of the CIA’s top officer in Kabul, Afghanistan, to some 6,000 journalists on a list provided to news organizations of senior U.S. officials participating in the president’s surprise visit with U.S. troops.

Upon learning of the error, the administration issued a revised list that didn’t include the individual who had been identified on the initial release as the “Chief of Station” in Kabul, a designation used by the CIA for its highest-ranking spy in a country.

“It shouldn’t have happened,” deputy national security advisor Tony Blinken told CNN. “We’re trying to understand why it happened. The chief of staff, Denis McDonough, asked White House counsel to look into it, to figure out what happened and make sure it won’t happen again.”

Now while an internal investigation will likely satisfy Obama supporters, it’s a far cry from the bitter tone used years ago when the Bush administration leaked Valerie Plame’s identity. At that time, words like “traitor” and “treason” were used to describe Bush officials involved in the controversy.

But the leaks from the Obama administration stretch back for years and are some of the more notable in recent history.

Shortly after the successful raid that killed Osama Bin Laden, the Obama administration revealed the classified identity of SEAL Team Six, Special Operations Force behind the raid, placing a target on the backs of the team members as well as their families.

Speaking at an event two days following the raid, Vice President Joe Biden, apparently giddy over the mission’s success, publicly identified the unit that tracked down and killed America’s foremost enemy, giving jihadists a clear target to avenge the death of Bin Laden.

The Obama administration would then go on to “out” the Pakistani doctor who helped the CIA track down Bin Laden. Dr. Shakil Afridi, a Pakistani physician who helped the CIA confirm Osama Bin Laden’s presence in the city, was sentenced to 33 years by the Pakistani government for his role in the attack.

Even allied nation’s secrets apparently aren’t safe with this administration.

In December 2012, the Obama administration “accidentally” revealed extensive details about a top-secret missile base the U.S. planned to build for Israel to host a new ballistic-missile defense system called the Arrow 3. Israeli military officials were shocked when they learned that the U.S. revealed details of the project in documents it published seeking contractor bids.

Now many folks aren’t sure if this administration’s reckless disclosure of our nation’s secrets is for political gain or simply from sheer incompetence. I believe it may be both.

But it’s time for Obama to end his flippant approach to national security — before it results in catastrophic loss of life.

Words of Wisdom: Doug Smith

I don’t concern myself with eschatology so much anymore. although I used to. The end? Well, it will come when it comes, and neither me, nor anyone else will know in advance. So live life as if today were your last day. Someday you ll be correct, and you will waste less of the time you have.
Now, that being said, I do think we are in a dangerous world. If you were looking at an Olde World map, there would be many places marked ” Heere there be Dragons. ” There are, as there have been always, wolves, bandits, men who believe that they can and should take what others have if they have the strength to do so. It is a lazy and evil attitude. It says I will not work hard to have what you have, I will not emulate your hard work and gain the same rewards you gained, I will wait for your work to be done and hit you and take it.

It began with Cain. It has never stopped. Unfortunately, there are also, and have always been, naïve , childlike men who believe in the world as they think it ought to be, and refuse to see the world as it is. And when these naïfs manage to get in control with high sounding but empty words, the results are based in the reality of what an adult would expect.

You don’t let your 4 year old drive your car, because you know what to expect. You don’t let a dangerous animal near your family, because you know it may attack. You build fences to keep out the bear. If it comes to close, you shoot at it. You let it know that you are as dangerous as it is. Otherwise it will come into your camp and eat your food, and perhaps, you.

I first noticed these things when Jimmy Carter was President. But in looking back across my lifetime, I have now noted a pattern. JFK met with Khrushchev, and that hungry old bear left with the impression the man was weak and feckless. A spoiled rich boy, not able to do anything without his daddy s money; Nikita saw no challenge in the man. His bumbling betrayal of the Cubans at the Bay of Pigs reinforced the impression that there was no substance to the man. And so we got the Cuban Missile Crisis. And I, along with millions of other children, were taught to cower under a desk to protect me from a thermonuclear blast hitting the Nickel Plant. Although the popular myth of the time was ” the Bear blinked, “, we now know that in fact, Kennedy quietly agreed to what he wanted all along. A few months after the Crisis passed, we removed our missiles from Turkey. A weak President, a challenge by a bandit, and a loss to America.

Jimmy Carter s weakness and incredibly naïve reading of world politics gave us the Mullahs in Iran, the hostage crisis, and gave rise the the modern Islamic terrorist threat we see around today. It makes a fine statement on those naïve supporters that a weak man who facilitated more violence and armed conflict than perhaps any other 20th century President was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. On the other hand, they also awarded it to Woodrow Wilson, who was re elected based on staying out of WW1, and launched us into it a month later.

Ford was tested by the Vietnamese and responded strongly. And we had a period of relative peace. Reagan and Kaddafi reached an understanding. Khadafy would shut up and not support terrorists against US interests, and Reagan would not bomb his tent anymore. He was winding up again during the Clinton years, and had an active WMD program. But strangely, in the month that the Iraq war started, he contacted the Brits and began to negotiate shutting it down. 9 months later, the US airlifted 25 metric tons of material and equipment for producing nuclear weapons out of Libya.

So now? We have weak, inexperienced, feckless, naïve leaders at the helm of the strongest nation in history. Common sense, and the evidence of my eyes, tells me that bandits and bullies will press their advantage. What will happen exactly? I don’t know. It will not be in our interests. Make no mistake, the bandits and bullies of the world pay attention to US politics. They do what they can, through propaganda or money, to put the sort of leaders in place that are beneficial to them.

The times are perilous. Our leaders are ineffective. Elections have consequences. Real, life and death consequences. The numbers tell us that Obama got fewer votes in 12 than in 08. 4 million Republican voters sat out the election, because Romney was an admittedly imperfect candidate. Yet if those 4 million had done what I did, ie held their noses and voted, Romney would be President. Elections have consequences.

If you are a Republican who sat at home in 2012 because you wanted Gingrich, or Herman Cain, or some other candidate, then YOU are as responsible for this second 4 years of trouble under Obama as the ” give me ” crowd who voted for him as Santa Claus. Don’t whine about how bad it is, and whine OH what can we do anyway, if you didn’t bother to cast your vote. You like what you have now? No? Then don’t sit home this fall. Don’t sit home in 2016. Don’t ever sit home again if you have breath in you.

William F Buckley said ” Support the most right leaning viable candidate. ” Wise words. A very conservative candidate with no hope of winning is a waste of time. A failure to vote for a candidate who is not all you want, but is closer than the opposition is politically no different than voting for the most radical leftist out there. And thus we suffer with Barack Obama. I hope this dangerous world scares every conservative, every Christian, to the point that they will never again fail to vote, and get their friends out to vote. THAT is the thing we can do. There may be more, but when we fail to do even that, then shame.

” All that is required for evil to win, is for good men to do nothing.” That applies to Barack Obama s dealings with Putin and Iran and North Korea and China. But it applies equally to the electorate and Barack Obama. Find the good as you see it, and support it all you can. Failing to do this means that evil will gain. Whether Obama is evil or naïve and misguided, I cannot say. I don’t see inside him. But his actions are such that they permit evil to gain ground. So when we permit him to win, we do the same thing.

Now, the WV 3rd race between Rahall and Jenkins is getting national attention, because for the first time there is a real chance that a Dem will lose the district. Pulling power from the Dems in Congress lowers Obama s ability to do the misguided things he does. Capito has a real chance to capture the Senate seat of Rockafeller. WV could be one of the states that wrests control of the Senate from Harry Ried and finally puts the brakes on the Obama agenda. So there is something you can do, if we are still around in November.

Christians are wont to say, I will do such and such if the Lord tarries. Don’t worry about that. Do the right thing today. If the Lord comes, you ll hear about it, trust me. Meantime, do the right thing today.

Mark Caserta: Social progressives are ruining America

America is in a state of rapid decline, with nearly every measure of society spiraling in efficacy.

Socially, our nation is becoming morally anemic. While understanding the family unit is God’s foundation for our purposeful growth, progressives have waged a relentless attack on traditional marriage. Their tenacity has successfully moved our nation to the acceptance of same-sex parents with the term “partner” used over the time-honored titles of “husband” and “wife.”

As purity loses its value and augmented by the declining number of marriages in our nation, more and more babies are being born out of wedlock. A 2012 study sponsored by the National Marriage Project at the University of Virginia shows that nearly half of “first” babies born in the U.S. are born to unwed mothers.

Economically speaking, our nation’s financial woes have never been worse. Washington continues to spend money we simply don’t have and five years into the Obama presidency, Americans have little to show for the president’s $787 billion stimulus package.

Under this administration, the labor force participation rate is the lowest in three decades, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The number of people relying on food stamps is at a record high at 48 million, or a 49 percent increase since Obama took office.

And with millions of Americans out of work, liberals have conveniently forgotten the “shovel-ready jobs” promise president-elect Obama made in December 2008. “I’m confident … our 21st century investments will create jobs immediately,” Obama said while speaking in Chicago. “We’ve got shovel-ready projects all across the country.”

But the jobs never materialized. And although many struggling families took this president at his word, this “executive miss” gave Obama a little “chuckle” while meeting with his jobs council in 2011. He remarked that “Shovel-ready was not as shovel-ready as we expected.”

Internationally, America’s relationship with the world has never been more problematic. We’ve opened ourselves to unprecedented challenge by countries across the globe who have longed for a moment in time when the “mighty” U.S. would falter under dysfunctional leadership.

Barack Obama set the stage early in his presidency when he took his international “apology tour” on the road. In less than 100 days, the president apologized on three continents for what he views as the sins of America and his predecessors, lavishing his country with descriptors like “arrogant,” “dismissive” and “even derisive.”

While hardly words of a patriot, this admission of fault and subsequent “passive” leadership has emboldened our enemies and alienated our allies. This administration’s failure in its goal to “reset” relations with Russia is only the most recent example of impotent leadership, and might indeed reinstate a Cold War.

Progressives are destroying our nation. Their ideology is depreciating America both domestically and internationally, and the American people are paying the price.

America can once again become the beacon of freedom and liberty across the globe simply by returning to the conservative principles which made us great.

It’s time to stop the progressive movement and “reset” American exceptionalism.

Mark Caserta: Obamacare works, but not for America

Liberals keep telling Americans that Obamacare is working, and they may be right.

In fact, last week Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told Americans that all of the Obamacare “horror stories” simply aren’t true.

“There’s plenty of horror stories being told,” Reid said from the Senate floor about Republicans. “All of them are untrue, but they’re being told all over America.”

I’m not sure Betsy Tadder from Illinois would agree.

In an interview with Fox News last fall, Ms. Tadder shared the uncertainty she now faces after her health insurance carrier canceled her policy.

Betsy Tadder previously paid $454 a month for a plan she liked, but it was set to end in December. After searching her options, the cheapest replacement plan she could find will cost her $871, nearly twice the cost of her canceled plan and with a much higher deductible.

“I could stretch my budget to afford a policy, but the deductible is $12,700. I don’t have $12,700 to pay for a deductible on Obamacare,” Tadder said. She went on to explain that her income was too high for subsidies, but too low for a better policy.

It’s interesting Senator Reid would accuse Republicans of lying about Obamacare when the president’s entire signature healthcare reform bill was sold on a series of lies.

The president misled Americans by promising they could choose to keep their healthcare plan or doctor if they wanted. He also led Americans to believe the typical family would receive a $2,500 annual reduction in their annual premium. Both were dubbed lies by Politifact.com.

And Americans were lied to about Obamacare providing affordable health insurance for every American. Based on the Congressional Budget Office’s February 2014 Baseline analysis, 31 million non-elderly Americans will be left uninsured by the year 2016.

So in the midst of the deception and with millions of Americans having already lost their health insurance, why would liberals keep insisting Obamacare is working?

I submit that Obamacare isn’t about providing affordable healthcare to more Americans at all.

It’s about fundamentally changing America with increased government control in our lives.

Understand the entire success of Obama’s plan depends on the Marxist principles of redistribution. People who once had affordable healthcare are being forced into a “community” of buyers where those “who have” support those “who do not.”

Socialism openly declares that “their ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions.” And life’s possessions are taken “from each according to his abilities” and redistributed to “each according to his needs.”

And liberals qualify the millions of canceled policies by telling American’s they simply weren’t smart enough to figure out their policies weren’t any good. But no worries, we now have a leader who knows what’s best for everyone.

Is this really the America we want to leave for our children? Do we really want the government making these decisions for us?

Obama’s ideology better aligns with The Communist Manifesto than with the U.S. Constitution.

Yes, Obamacare is working all right. It’s working against America.

Obama acts is if he’s above the law; he’s not

What liberals refer to as “obstructionist” tactics by Republicans in blocking the socialist policies of Barack Hussein Obama, conservatives call “preserving the Constitution.”

It’s interesting that while the president has often referred to himself as a “constitutional law professor,” the title is somewhat gratuitous. While never a full-time or tenured professor, he did teach courses in constitutional law at the University of Chicago as a “senior lecturer.”

Unfortunately, rather than use his knowledge to adhere to its provisions, the president has chosen to test the boundaries of our government’s founding document.

Article II, Section 3 of the U. S. Constitution, sometimes known as the “Faithful Execution Clause,” is best read as a duty that qualifies the president’s executive power. By virtue of this power, the president is required to “take care” that our nation’s laws are “faithfully executed.”

But not only has Obama been derelict in his duty to protect our laws, he’s an offender.

As Democrats are so fond of reminding Republicans, Obamacare is now the law of the land.

But despite the fact The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was indeed signed into law in 2010 and ultimately upheld by the Supreme Court, President Obama believes it’s within his power to make changes without Congressional action!

Our Constitution clearly grants legislative powers to Congress. The president does not have the authority to arbitrarily “alter” legislation signed into law.

The employer mandate, which requires businesses employing 50 or more full-time employees to provide health insurance or pay a fine, was scheduled to take effect in 2014, but has been delayed entirely or in part, twice, by the president!

The fact that Obamacare is poor legislation doesn’t grant the president powers exceeding those afforded him by the Constitution.

And in the first case of its kind, the Supreme Court is now arguing the legality of four “recess” appointments made by President Obama to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in 2012. The Constitution allows the president to make temporary appointments to those positions that otherwise require Senate confirmation, but only when the Senate is in recess. The problem is — the Senate was not in recess!

Three federal appeals courts have already ruled that Obama overstepped his authority in these appointments.

It’s obvious the president is following the “executive version” of the liberal playbook which calls for continuous contestation of preconceived limitations designed to “progressively” tilt the scales of totalitarian power to the left.

President Obama is arguably the most liberal president in our nation’s history. If he’s successful in these attempts to bypass our nation’s laws, what leftist policies will he pursue in his remaining years in office?

The U.S. Constitution is not merely a guideline to be consulted by those it was written to regulate. It’s the supreme law of the land written to protect the rights of all Americans and must be protected.

It’s time Americans “tether” President Obama to the Constitution and hold him accountable for adhering to its precepts.

This president is not above the law.
